Who am I?
I’m Nathalie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I graduated with a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2015. My experience includes working for Child Protective Services and in the medical field for Stanford Children’s Health (SCH). At SCH, I worked for the institution’s mobile clinic and their pediatric oncology unit. Most recently, I joined a women’s healthcare startup as a Mental Health Therapist. My therapeutic specialities include anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and overcoming perfectionism as well as people-pleasing behaviors. Most often, I work with teens, women, BIPOC, children of immigrant parents, first-gen professionals, and LGBTQIA+ folks.
I am a Mexican-American cis woman (pronouns: she/her) who grew up in Santa Cruz, California. I am the eldest daughter of immigrant parents and I navigate the world as a first-gen professional. I was raised Catholic, but now identify as more of a spiritual person. My strengths include connection, growth, learning new things, and synthesizing information.

“You are allowed to begin again as often as is necessary and as much as you need. You’re allowed to press that refresh bottom on your life. We’ll go through many iterations of what our external life looks like and what our internal life feels like. A lot will change. The point is that we are always in connection with what our true Self is urging us to do next. When that urge comes that you attune yourself to it and say, ‘I’m willing to give up what I know, what has become habit, what has kept me comfortable in order to be in alignment to what’s going to get me free.’”

Therapeutic approach:
During talk therapy sessions, I blend IFS, CBT, DBT and ACT—all while using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach that honors the mind-body-spirt connection. When appropriate, I utilize humor in sessions because laughter is such good medicine. A meme may not solve your problems, but there’s relief in the relatability of it all ✨

IFS is an evidenced-based therapy that helps us understand the different parts of our minds. Through IFS, we can experience more harmony by recognizing our protective parts and unburdening our wounded parts.
I am a Level 1 IFS-trained therapist.

We’ll discuss how your thoughts affect your feelings and your feelings affect your behavior. We’ll also review cognitive distortions (unhelpful thinking styles) that we all utilize, but they tend to get in the way of us experiencing fulfilling personal and professional lives when they’re left unchecked.
I am a certified Trauma-Focused CBT therapist. Exp. 9/28/25.
-
We’ll review emotional regulation tools, distress tolerance techniques, how to communicate assertively, the importance of mindfulness, and more.
I was trained in DBT in January 2020 by Stanford University.
-
I’ll support you in accepting your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I’ll also help you in embracing a values-driven life.

Traditionally used in couples therapy, the Gottman Method focuses on emotions that are activated within the relationship and on the couple’s dysfunctional negative interaction patterns. I only work with individuals. I coach clients on:
Processing relationship wounds that are interfering with their partnership
Expressing their feelings in healthy ways
Communicating their needs within relationships
Conserving during conflict discussions with a constructive approach
Creating rituals and shared meaning with partners
I have completed Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

ART uses the best of other therapies (EMDR, CBT, exposure therapy, Gestalt, guided imagery, etc). It was designed to treat trauma, but is also great for anxiety, depression, stress, grief, etc. It's different from traditional talk therapy because it's procedural. I follow a script and guide you through bilateral eye movements that help reprogram your brain and body, which support you in working through the negative images and sensations associated with a problem or event.
I have completed the Basic, Advanced & Enhancement ART Trainings.
